I cannot tell you how wonderful it feels to hear from those of you who are reading my book. I especially get tingles from those of you who are saying you remember that day like it was yesterday. Part of me wants to say thank you… for remembering… I guess. Somehow it makes me feel close to you… that you felt the sorrow of that day, too… that it put a mark on your soul, too… I’ve carried this story in my heart all these years, and it is freeing to release it to the public. Mary feels the same way, too. Like she says… there should be no shame in inflicted violence, but there always is.
Shame causes so much unnecessary suffering. I don’t want any child to suffer like I did. Bless you… to all who are reading To Soften the Blow.
