After spending four years working on TSTBlow, the last two full time, I decided to take a break. It was that or break down. In May, I experienced burnout for the first time in my life. It scared me. I like my job in the classroom too much to feel that. I knew I needed a summer of recooperation. I got it.
A friend offered me free use of his condo in Florida and I spent virtually the whole month of August there walking on the beach, swimming in the pool, and hanging out with my friend’s brother. It was a lovely way to work… in between enjoying nature, good food, music, and many, many naps….
I accomplished several things in my month of relaxing. Each day, I worked with my designer to re-print the book with Amazon CreateSpace. It’s now a go. Barnes and Noble has now ordered books for their shelves. And… the best part of all… a reporter for a large newspaper is interviewing my family and me to do a cover story for a local magazine. I’ll post on facebook when it’s a done deal.
